Signs that they are slowly assimilating but still they are way behind they need to look into techniques employed by Conrad Black and Martha Stewart as it is apparent insider trading is much more lucrative and the punishment is almost nil as evidence proves citing the previously mentioned.

To Whom It May Concern:
Again and again it will be proven that the Indians in both Canada and the united states are operating illegal businesses, working with criminal organizations and having open communications with terrorist organizations, an after all of the evidence and proof is right in front of all of us – nothing is done!
I have personally lived in-between three reservations for two and a half years in Canada. After that experience I have been lobbying that non-native police forces\governments should have jurisdiction of some sort over the reservations and there operations. I witnessed everything from beatings, robberies, death threats and the list goes on and on during my time living there.
After reading the article above, to me it proves that Steven HaperÂ’s plan to arm the border guards is one that should have been done years ago. The native group (the reservation that straddles Ontario, Quebec and NY) that sent a letter to the government requesting that their border crossing be exempt from the new polices should be the first ones out-fitted with the new firearms and more border guards to regulate that very corrupted Indian group.
It has been shown time and time again that the Mohawk warriors are extremely corrupt in them selves and their actions. I think the Canadian and US border guards should have complete jurisdiction over the border, regardless if itÂ’s Indian land or not! A time for a change is now and everyone needs to step up to the challenge and change the way both sides deal with the corrupted Indian groups\organizations\enterprises.

The Mohawk Warriors are well know to law enforcement for their involvement in smuggling guns and drugs.... it is no leap of imagination to connect these thugs to meth production and distribution!

When I lived in Michigan - right across the river from Walpole island - you could hear and sometimes see the boats leaving there in the middle of the night without their lights on. A border patrol officer told me that they were smuggling Meth from Wapole across to Michigan. According to him, there were at least a half dozen meth labs on the island.

No point even discussing the Native situation or anything they do, they are above our laws, otherwise situations like Caledonia, drugs, booze and cigarette smuggling would be stopped.
Neither is there any control over the money poured into the huge black hole to operate Reserves resulting in just what we have, a collossal, disgusting mess, with too many living in squalour.
Time to phase out the Reserves and integrate into mainstream, they can still have their "culture", the same way all other ethnicities have theirs.
The real kicker here is when all hell breaks loose and things go wrong, IT'S OUR FAULT! Rampant stupidity and gutless, brainless governments at all levels we can look forward to more of the same.

Just a little point I want to make.
I believe a big problem with what is going on in Canada in regards to the natives and everyone else is – knowledge and information. That is why I think sites like Caledoniawakeupcall.com are need and hope to see more sites like theirs soon popping up.
The truth is that the natives are going to have to learn to live without having the government of Canada paying their way all the way. As more people take notice to what is happening, the more scrutiny the Canadian government will come under by the other 30+ million people inside the wonderful country.
The Tides Of Change Are Upon Us!! Try to ignore the movement started and it will be thrown back up at you, try to crush it and the stronger it will become. The people of Canada are saying STOP to the government and treat these people (natives) just like any other Canadian. Then the movement towards peace will come over the land as all are equal and treated fairly. One step at a time and we'll all start moving towards a better path.

I agree that free and open bloging is a good thing. Now if you go to caledoniawakeupcall.com and scroll down youÂ’ll see that they show many views from the natives and have links to the native news groups. You talk about asking for money, well I am sure that you dare not forget about the billions we give the natives to do nothing. The two people working day and night on caledoniawakeupcall.com had put their own jobs at risk to bring the true story to the forefront as I am sure you have noticed the media groups seem not to be able to get it right.
As for my political views, they are mine as yours are yours! That’s why we have here in Canada ‘freedom of speech’. The natives and the government of Canada need a wake up call and to start working together instead of a big game of tug-a-war. The natives need to stop trying to claim all or majority of Canada and the government needs to come up with a better plan on getting them off the funding programs and using the billions of dollars for a better use that benefits all Canadians.

There are trucks lumbering into Tofino with supplies of bottled water due to the drawn out dry spell we have had this summer. The sudden appearance of the bottom of the water supply jug has caused sleepy Tofino town managers to declare an emergency water conservation measure.
Hotels and lodges are supposed to encourage their guests to leave early. All the usual no watering and no car washing measures are invoked of course, but the extra measure of sending guests home early is to reduce demand and avoid pulling up contaminated water.
Lets hope imported water can see the hospitality business scrape through the long weekend.
No doubt the town managers want to avoid cases of people getting *Beaver Fever* at all costs. Can kill seniors and children.
I had a bout of that in Cumberland once and never felt so painfully sick before or since.

Sure, his captors eventually "told Wiig that he would be released because he was from New Zealand," but really, who's gonna take that at face value? I doubt he sat around casually, passing the time playing Sudoku or something, while waiting to be released. As for Mr. Centanni, are you saying that because he wasn't explicitly told he was going to die, that he wasn't already looking for a way to escape?

This "stern" letter addressed to the natives (via chief Allan McNaughton) has all the nuances of disciplining out-of-control children who'll probably rebel against parental authority by "accidentally" burning down more of those partially finished houses before they leave "home". These molly-coddled hooligans have not acted in accordance with house rules for over 6 months despite all the tolerance of a very naive parent, so why would they begin to co-operate now?
The only way to resolve this fiasco is for Big Brother to ask the new Ontario POLITICAL Police to step up to plate and try to regain some of their lost credibility by demonstrating real action that will get the native's attention.

Hey True, Just a little point I want to make to you.
As you claim to be a bit of all those ethnic\religious groups, most people bloging here are not middle aged white men most defiantly. Most people in Canada are a mix of many such as your-self. For you to sit here and point your finger at everyone posting a racist! I remind you of one thing. There are three fingers pointing back at you.
If you took or after reading this take the time to read both sides very very carefully, then youÂ’ll see that most people are just tired of watching governments give into a group of persons who are more less unlawful in there actions and most of the time donÂ’t hold any merit to back up there extreme actions! I will be brief:
As I have already stated and will again so everyone here can read it again. I do not hate the natives of Canada and in no way do I want them to be ‘exterminated!’ so to all the posters here who say they are more educated when replying to my posts please work on taking your foot out of your mouth when you are saying things like ‘guns blazing’ and so on and so forth. You speak about terrorist actions in the future, what about over the last six months. (If you look in the past how the natives have acted in there ‘peaceful protests) If you take the time to glance over the terrorist act of Canada you’ll all see that the actions being committed and have been committed fall under the terrorist act. Now to claim sovereignty you (natives) are a nation declaring war on Canada! Just something for you to chew on for awhile.
If the Natives in Canada want to be a sovereign nation, I don’t object to it by any means as long as they start acting like one! (I’ll say it again START ACTING LIKE ONE!) If the proclaimed ‘first nations’ want sovereignty then they must do the following:
• Set up border crossings onto and off there reserves
• All current funding and support from the Canadian government and Canadians stops as they are their own nation and now must be 100% self reliant on them selves for survival. (this includes land claims that have not yet been processed. To be realistic and honest; the natives will never get all of Canada under any circumstance. Therefore the bands will have to be realistic and maybe a little more efficient with how they use their land!)
• Must set up their own government and laws to be followed by their people. (their laws will only hold merit on their lands and thief lands alone)
• If a native is in Canada and not in his\her own nations land. Then that person is subject to the full extent of the Canadian Law and vise versa.
• The natives must set up their own postage, currency, ect.
The above list is just the beginning of what the natives would have to do to become a sovereign nation. Do keep in mind that under the Indian act and constitution of Canada it dose state there will never be a sovereign nation separate of Canada inside Canadian borders. The above listed is just to entertain the idea.
Oh and a final note: to both true and the other posters. I do agree with some points you make in your arguments, but as I am sure you know as I do there will always be differences in opinions and we have to appreciate that.

Also if you go and ask individual natives\native groups in Canada, allot of them donÂ’t want to be governed by their people and would rather be governed by the Canadian government. To prove that point there is a law suite going on in British Columbia as we all type regarding a group in upper British Columbia that was granted sovereignty over governing their own people in that area. (Many consider this to be a void treaty due to how unconstitutional terms are) The individual bands have requested to be exempted from the treaty and want to be governed by the Canadian Government stating that their own people do not know how to run and operate their own governing body 100% independently and effectively.
For more examples please feel free to take a dart and through it at a map of Canada, then go to the nearest reserve and youÂ’ll see the results of poor control and management on their part. If these groups had control of all the land in Canada, their reserves today might be a little bit of foreshadowing of what Canada might look like! The people who claim to protect this land from harm need to lead by example in keeping there own lands\air\water clean.

To provide some balance (and I'm not a paganist, BTW) ... there's crazy Wiccans and level-headed Wiccans, just like there's varying levels of sanity among Christian and Islamic faiths. Wicca is a faith recognized by the US Military, and there are actually several Wiccans actively serving in all branches of the US Armed Forces, and law enforcement officers on both sides of our border who practice Wicca - there's an entire online mailing list with thousands of members.
For every teenager 'casting a curse' for unrequited love, and every goth punk who fancies himself a devil worshipper, there's a half-dozen decent, 'normal' people from all walks of life following paganistic belief systems.

Most self-avowed Wiccans I know are decent people -- kind, relaxed, compassionate, fun to hang out with -- whose only fault is looking for a way to feel "spiritual," or have the sense of meaning that a faith system gives, without actually having to undertake the sacrifices, self-discipline and coherent organized thought most traditional religions properly demand -- looking for the thrills of religious belief without the work of the real thing.
The single biggest attraction of Wicca, and neopaganism in general, is the refusal to subscribe to a single overall pattern of belief and response, so it doesn't surprise me that there's a lot of inconsistency in how neopagans respond to various issues -- that inconsistency is the point.
That said, "Free" is correct in that there are dangerous lunatics among those circles, as there are in any circle, and some of them do deliberately embrace what may well be dark powers or forces (I've never seen any claimed occult power actually work, but I don't believe in taking chances with the immortal soul). Even the saner groups often have very wrong-headed ideas about healthy sexuality (most neopagans are very big on alternative and "liberated" sexual paradigms), and I wouldn't want my kids exposed to such groups without some very careful preparation beforehand.
One of the great tragedies of this world is that you can be a decent, sane, perfectly well-intentioned individual, and still wreak vast amounts of damage on those around you if you subscribe to the wrong ideas or go down the wrong path.

As of 7:40 Wed night - one home on the DCE [Douglas Creek Estates, the land occupied by natives from the Six Nations Reserve] land is currently on fire.

If true, this could be bad. A fire started by natives using open fires to stay warm? Worse yet, a fire set purposely by someone. In any case, all those exposed wooden frames, no fire retardant covering, containers containing vehicle fuel and cooking fuel...

The only possible silver lining of this whole debacle is the Ontario voter *may* see the sheep coming home to roost. Lying and thieving disn't work last year, maybe this does. Liberal policies of revisionism and social engineering are a recipe for long term pain and discord.
The Canadian government should move towards policies that make all Canadians participants and beneficiaries. Giving one group perks that don't directly lead to integration are bad for everyone.

Well argued. I think the insurance companies should be shamed into ensuring confidential personal client data is treated with the utmost respect via negative publicity in situations like these. Think of it as a small check against an industry extremely adept at lobbying.
Another item that really bothers me are the "personalized" credit card solicitations routinely sent via mail. Some companies go so far as to fill out part of the application with your name and address for you. Anyone with half a brain knows that this attempt at "personalizing the sell" is a routine form letter. And yet the rudimentary data is there for unethical folks to pluck out of your recycling box if you are not careful enough to rip up the personal information peppering the pages of the form letter and application.
When you think how hard it is to keep your personal info, well, personal, it's amazing this doesn't happen more often...

First, as far as I understand, these are as yet unproven allegations; you may wish to consider whether any comments assume they're already proven facts, or could be misread as suggesting such a thing.
Then, I agree that it would be better to name this particular company. But that doesn't suggest that customers of other companies (and not just insurance companies) are immune to credit card fraud. There are many sources through which miscreants falsely obtain credit information and commit fraud. That such an event may have occurred at an insurance company is cause for due caution, but that caution probably applies to all of our financial transactions.

Sometimes it's unreal how banks, insurance companies and other institutions operate.
We got a call from our insurance company, asking for personal information over the phone. When I refused to give said information to an anonymous caller, he became rather indignant so I asked him for the same personal information and said "After all, you have the advantage since you know who I am since you called me."
Needless to say, I did not get his personal info and he did not get mine but I set an appointment to visit my broker.

Have you noticed that large companies (like insurance) actually allow their staff not to tell you their full names when they call you (and ask for personal info) or send you letters with same. I've received more than one letter with a tremendous amount of my personal information in it signed by John 'D' or Mary 'W'. Apparently THEIR privacy is the big concern right now, not the customers.

Weekend Star had an article on people in TO losing their homes. One old guy had his rental property sold by a man using a phoney licence[same last name] and a forged power of att. Sold the house to a couple from Russia for 400Gs. They can't move in, though they're carrying a 340Gs mortgage. Old guy can't touch his house cause it's been sold. That was one of three incidents in TO. Just the ones they featured. This scam has happened in Michigan enough times that they recently passed a law 1st offence 10yrs min.

Finishing the houses while the land is under dispute and in negotiations should be no different than riling against HENCO starting them in the first place as the protestors insist that land was under a claim. The protestors insisted on a complete site moratorium in the early days until the land issue was resolved. This was provided by the government months ago by David Ramsay (illegally I might add, as the government did not follow the planning act in their unilateral moratorium declaration and had to go back later and apply for the moratorium under their planning act).
A deal should be a deal. The government granted the moratorium on development on the site in response to a direct request by the protestors. Now the protestors want to break the moratorium and continue construction.
The appearance of this is that the protestors will not live up to agreements (even the ones they negotiate). JMO...

Why don't they use a famous whitey tactic and make up some sort of propaganda spin story like how they are afraid for their lives and the lives of their children, or better yet accuse the Caledonians as terrorists, make sure they control the news coverage to show only Caledonians as the aggressors. How about a spin story about how the Europeons racist taunts are keeping people away from the reserve and they now need financial assistance. Better yet pull an ingenious Henco real estate maneuver (classic) these guys did F**k all except begin building on knowingly disputed piece of land and they walked away with millions with more to come. The Six Nations need to learn the manipulation and underhanded tactics of the Europeons once you do spin the sh*t out off it to make it look as if the others are at fault for the fiasco created. Hell it worked and works so well for them that they managed to build political power and wealth world wide on other people's backs and lands. I laugh when I watch the native representatives on the television saying how peacefully they are and how they are never the aggressors in any situation. How they are defending them selves from the all evil ‘WHITE MAN!’ I say it’s time for all of you to wake up and see it for what it is. The so called proclaimed ‘first Nations’ are as much an immigrant to Canada as anyone coming into this country every day to start a new life.
If you want to see examples of what I speak about in relations to how ‘peaceful’ the natives are. I say just walk onto anyone of their reserves, then see what they say to you as you walk around there streets and communities. I have done this and been told ‘If you don’t leave at once you’ll be shot!!’ well on that note, how about all the natives stay on there reserves and never leave that land. If we are not welcomed on yours you are most defiantly not welcome on Canadian soil. More examples – impperwash, ocha and the list can go on pre-dating the white mans arrival when the natives were trying to wipe out one another’s groups.
If you read carefully what was granted to the ‘six nations’ then all will see that the British granted them the land to be used under the British ruling and swore to protect the natives at the time who got their asses handed to them by the Americans. Note that I said the ‘natives at the time the land was granted to them’ not ‘forever’ and under the same legislation if you don’t use it then you loose it! I have read over the land treaties and Indian act, what I can’t understand is how and why Canada would pick up a promise to protect these people that they never really promised to in the first place.
As I look at it, all these cry baby natives should be happy the British or the white man came because if they didn’t come then they would be under American law and would have nothing in the way they get today! Just remember that little piece of information as you say we treat you so bad. Oh and enjoy everything you are getting today because come tomorrow it will start to go away as the other 30+ million people in this country start to ask the government ‘why’!?!?!

I do understand very well the role the native played in regards to the beginning settlers. But if you want to play hard ball then I say look at how the all might six nations got their asses handed to them by the Americans, then forced to seek refuge under the British who swore only to protect the people of the time and for them to live on the land granted to them under British Rule. An how eventually the native groups through what is now Canada would have had the same thing happen to them as the six nations with the exception that there would be no British government to baby sit!
Another bit of information is that my information I researched myself and do not look to uneducated persons for my facts. From what I can tell is most ‘elder natives’ telling the younger generations to carry on the crusade of hate and hence why there is still so much hate when we should be working towards peace and not war inside Canada. If you cannot see that then you are truly the foolish one and I guarantee you that 100 years from now the problems will still exist if not be intensified and Canada will have it’s self a civil war because of the gaps between ‘them’ and ‘us’!!
I do not hate or want to see the natives or anyone killed over unrealistic compromises from both sides (which has happened in the past). If you look at what both sides are looking for and then find a middle playing ground, peace will come. If the natives stop trying to claim ALL OF CANADA and billions of dollars in compensation and the government stops trying to prolong the settlements and sticking to the natives. Things would be allot better and the whole ‘gap’ thing would probably net really exist anymore an we would all be more united as a whole and a nation. The reality is that they will never get all of Canada back even if they try to ‘fight’ for it, not even a good percent of Canada will ever be handed over to them. The country is growing and they will never regain control of this entire land. Again there is about 3-5 million native in Canada and over 30 million non-natives and growing by almost half a million a year. The numbers just don’t add up and as more land is need for Canada’s growth the land settlements will get smaller and smaller, that is why I suggest the natives try to settle their claims as soon as possible to get what they can.
The odds are no longer in their favor and the bleeding hearts of the nineties are disappearing quickly.
I would love to see the natives and non-natives be able to work together in the future, but I fear IÂ’ll not see it in my lifetime and see the exact opposite.
I could go on and on why the natives will not be granted Canada or even a large portion of it, but I imagine that most persons reading this can figure it out themselves or already know.

Olivia Chow's riding to push for funding for Hamas
Stephen Taylor has a leaked document listing all the foreign policy resolutions to be presented at the upcoming NDP policy convention in the fall. It is a document that is filled with all the requisite anti-Bush, anti-US, anti-business, anti-military stuff we expect from the NDP. Of course, these are resolutions coming from the grassroots, so you'd expect the worst of it to be filtered out just before or during the convention.
But I'm surprised at the harsh resolutions coming from the Trinity-Spadina riding association. That's Olivia Chow's riding. Olivia Chow is the wife of Jack Layton, the NDP leader. I would think that those resolutions would cleave closely to mainstream NDP thinking. If so, Canada's third party is entering a radical and thrill stage.

Personally I think this is a worthy discussion. Two allegations have been made.
One is that the photo was altered to enhance the view of the beers. Not likely, as everything in the foreground is in focus (except for one hand, which seems insignificant, whether in view or if removed -- it might represent the one and only attempt to remove foreground objects).
The second, and far more serious allegation, is that the elements of the image were moved around as happened with the infamous Reuters photos. If that were true, then there would be a very serious problem for the CPC web people. Based on this bit of amateur photographic analysis, I think we can stop worrying about that.

CMT - I have been looking at this photo on various websites since yesterday and for the life of me I cannot see where beer bottles were moved. They all look like they are in the same place. The photo was cropped in closer which - to my eye- makes them look bigger - and the background blurred.
If these liberals who have somehow taken this to the level of the faked Rueters photos want to still be trying to make something out of this, then Steve had every right to grudgingly provide more proof of the opposite.

I don't see anything wrong with blurring the backround of the image, but by airbrushing out the hand (in the foreground) on the far right, they've implied that's another one of Kennedy's beers. There's absolutely no other reason to remove the hand and leave the beer in the photo.
I also thought that it was illegal to use previously published photos without permission and that they could not be modified in ANY way except for cropping.

OK, jesting aside, there is a lot of sensitivity to the question of photographic integrity in the digital age. Cokie Roberts delivering a report from in front of the White House, but not really (she was in front of a blue screen). The magically appearing veil on that non-Muslim women. Reutergate.
So when someone says, or almost says, that the CPC tried to fake up a photo to make Gerard Kennedy look like problem drinker, it matters. If it's true that the photo was manipulated, then what other photos have been doctored? If it's not true, then how quickly can we kill the story? It matters, because in this day and age, it could be true, and for some people, that's enough to believe just about any allegation.

I don't think the question should be whether or not it is acceptable for images on that site to be digitally altered. Being as it is not a news site I would assume most photo's are altered to one degree or another to either help send a message or to make the photo better suited to the format and small size the Conservatives use. For example, on the current version of the site there are 3 photos for thiner "top stories" and it would seem all of them are altered in one way or another.
The question should be whether the Conservatives engaged in a form of gutter politics and tried to use this photo to smear the image of Kennedy. Like others, I actually found the image to be a fairly complementary and I honestly have a hard time thinking that anyone would look at that pic and think 'wow, he must be a lush'.

It's the hand that's moved, not the beer bottle.
If you look at the effect you can see that our faithful editor removed the hand reaching for the beer bottle and edited in the portion of the chair that was previously covered by that hand. In the image on this page you can see the hand creeping back slowly. There is no need for that. While the beer bottle hasn't moved the two pictures do not fit in the portion as the hand has moved..

Bongo Urtz, BA, MSc,PhD (Metal State U) the Conservative photo-retoucher/sommelier, thinking that many Canadians might think that the plot was supposed be one exposing Kennedy sucking back some moderately priced ZZZZzing!, and end up with Kennedy being percieved as a cheap, low-life wino, decided to give Kennedy the "common touch," beer.
All that's missing to make Kennedy really fit into the Liberal Party of Tarawnna Everyman mould (yes, mould!), is to have him wearing a true loser's outfit, a Trawnna Make Belief Home Joisey, with Toe Dominoe's name on the back. Yeah, that's it! That's the ticket.

As was noted previously: It's flyshit in the pepper but it's flyshit that we shouldn't have to deal with... What makes it worse is those who don't accept that it was an error, acknowledge it as such and then move on.
I'll bet five bucks that Zerb, Kinsella, Jason C. or Robert M. bring it up during the next election...

He didn't do it. That was obvious on August 17.
John Mark Karr has been cleared of any involvement in the JonBenet Ramsey murder. He faces other child pornography charges, but with the media circus surrounding the Ramsey case, he'll never get a fair trial, and he'll probably walk free. Thanks to Boulder prosecutor Mary Lacy, he'll be walking to a school near you.

Steve, I was 100% in the belief this guy didn't do it. He needed an out from Thailand and the ploy worked.
But I still want to know why we care in Canada. This is just some whack job that has covered every major press front page in the USA AND CANADA??
I ask why?? Everytime something like this happens, the media circus swarming it is so the media is not looking at something bigger and more important.

Hey the Thailand police got rid of him... permanetly, and they look like the good guys... how is this bad from their perspective.
Whats the real crime here is how badly the investigators have screwed up the entire Ramsey case. I think we've all seen to many cases where the police "fixate" on the "cuplrit" to the exclusion of all other possiblities...

I think the least the US authorities can do is return Mr. Karr to Thailand. For free, but economy class this time. Let the Thais decide what they wish to do with him. If the California DA wants him, they can pay for Karr to come from Thailand.

Terrible news of a death of an MP
From the CBC:
Bloc Quebecois MP Benoît Sauvageau was killed Monday in a car accident in Repentigny, east of Montreal, according to police. He was 42.
Sauvageau, who represented the riding of Repentigny, was first elected to Parliament in October 1993.
He was married to Jacinthe Amireault, with whom he had four children.
I'm about his age. I've got the same number of kids. Damn. My condolences to his family, and to his colleagues in parliament.

Sure.. It's a terrible way to die. But this guy was rabidly dedicated to the destruction of Canada and institutions. I won't shed any tears for this language Nazi..and his language proficiency tests that would throw people out of work.
He was a pompous blowhard...let's not sugarcoat his actions & intentions because he died in an accident.

Levesque learn a little bit of class. Did he take up arms against Canada? Did he kill somebody, rape somebody, etc? He took political actions that you - and I - and may others passionately disagree with. No one is going to pretend the Bloq and it's members are friendly parts of this country. However, he's now dead. His wife lost her husband, his children lost their father and your political differences should not be enough to attack the man on the day of his death.

No matter how anyone feels about the politics of the BQ, we must at least acknowledge that they operate within the context of a democracy. They do not call for civil disobedience, they do not impose a physical threat nor do they presently operate as a state within a state. Their intent is to create a state within a state, but that is different. If anyone looks at the voting patterns, the BQ register more as a protest vote than a sovereignty vote. A federal government that properly addressed regional concerns instead of bribing them would quickly make the BQ irrelevant. Prior to the Adscam, the BQ was slipping and its leader was being measured for a coffin.
A democracy must allow for expression of opposing ideas and if all we can do is name call and seek dishonourable opportunity for cheap points then are we not the liberals we all so love poke at.

I knew nothing about this man. As an MP for another party he was the opposition. But as a member of the Bloc, he was an enemy to Canada and hence, an enemy of mine. I cannot feel bad for him. His family, yes, but not him.
And I know his death will probably do nothing for either side of the Sovereignty equation.
The Nazi's used democracy to get a foothold too by the artful use of propaganda. And then they led the nation to destruction. Times are different now, yes. But just because the Bloc is not militant (yet) does not mean they are to be dismissed or accepted as innocuous.
The separatist philosophy is equal to that of a spoiled teenager who whines about how much better it would be if they lived by themselves in the 'real world' but forgets that the 'real world' requires rent to be paid and groceries to be bought, etc... The reality is that Quebec has no reason to believe they are in any way subordinate to the rest of Canada (the teenager).
Oh, don't get me started...
